Default Does the app get compressed when on App store?

Hi everyone. Im finished my first app game, took 8 months I credited this forum for lots of help and I will post it here when it is on the app store

My question is:

I have been reading the developer review guidelines for iphone apps and it says

"Apps larger than 20MB in size will not download over cellular networks (this is automatically prohibited by the App Store)
"

My app will be 23mb on the laptop BUT when I submit it for review and when its on the app store do they compress the size?

I think you can check the final size by archiving it and checking the IPA file.

How did you get the size on your computer? By counting the size of the project folder?
The ipa files submitted to the app store are actually zip files with .ipa extension, so yes, they are compressed files.

However, the compression ratio depends on the content of your application. For example, if it contains lots of audio files in mp3 format or jpg images these are not compressed more, as mp3 and jpg are already a compressed format. But if there are lots of png images or text files, then yes, you can get a higher compression ratio and most possibly the ipa file will be smaller than 20 MB.

Ok thank god My app literary sits on 20mb (19843.... kb) I have a lot of PNG;s and a few mp3 already included.. K Im going to put the finishing touches on it tonight and tomorrow I will read a lot about this stuff and get it submitted.

I also have another question if thats ok?

I have no special measures to allow iCloud.. is that ok? or do i have to use iCloud?

Do i have to enable icloud and input code for it and so on, ( i found links on how to do that)

It says "https://developer.apple.com/icloud/documentation/data-storage/" In the documentation to submit that my app MUST follow these proper guidelines.. but i never made any effort to even find out how to implement icloud and i really dont want to, i just want to submit this app. So do i have to use it?

You just don't need it period. Implementing in app iCloud functionality is totally optional. Most apps, especially games, don't utilize it.
