Default Changing App Icon

Is it possible to change the app icon similar to how the calendar app icon always changes with the date? Can it be done depending on information gained from the web? Thanks!

No. The only thing you can do is add a badge to your app icon. Badges are red circles with numbers in them.

The calendar app is an Apple app, and Apple's apps don't have to follow the same rules as third party apps.

Check out our apps in the Apple App store

Check out this password generator app that shows various techniques including using a data container singleton object to share data between objects in your project.

See this tutorial on using UIView animations and layer animations:

Check out a very cool Macintosh Kaleidoscopes app called ScopeWorks that we released to the Mac App store.

I see, thanks a lot! Gotta scratch that idea then. Just curious, can this be done on Android?

I think so, but I'm not an Android developer. There's only so many hours in the day!

Maybe you can get creative with the badge. I remember a weather app that got really popular because they decided to use push notifications to display the current temperature using the badge.
