Smile Local Notification display issue

Hello everybody!!

I have developed a application with GUI interface which contains username, password, remember me and interval option. This application updates address book from our remote server with user credentials sent via NSURLConnection and parses data using NSXMLparser. If remember me checkbox is checked and user information is verified first time; the next time GUI is not displayed and it updates address book if feeds are available on the remote server.

Their is also interval to call the application after set time; and for that I have used local notification which displays the alert and the application is displayed and updates address book if data is available for download. And if data is not available it closes the application.

What I want is to display Local Notification only if data is available for download on remote server.

If it is possible to display local notification alert only on data availability on remote server. Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation

Max

You'd have to use push/remote notifications. Have the server check for data availability and if so, send a notification.
