General Guidance for App Development

Hello Guys&Gals,
The general guidance I need is
1. I want to write an iPhone app from existing PHP+HTML/CSS code.


Questions:
1. I have the current code written in functions. Would converting the current PHP... code to Objective-C (?) simply be transliteration or are there generally major structural changes that need to take place to build the new Objective-C code?
2. Would the backend be done in Objective-C? What language do I need for the display?

I just need to know where I should start investigating and learning

I think the best thing would be to get yourself familiar with
objective C. Then manually translate the whole code.

You can use functions as well in objective C.

The display could be done in Storyboards using no code at all.

However if you need methods to act when the user does something (taps a button, enters data, etc) then you'll need to connect these into your backend code. And yes all backend code is written in Objective-C.
