Default How to fix width of tool bar button?????

Hi all

I am creating some simple application

I am using tool bar at bottom to provide some simple actions.

I have 2 buttons on tool bar.

1st on left side & other on right side.

I have placed fixed space bar between buttons to make 2nd button appear on right side of tool bar.

design is something like this

[bar button][fixed space bar][bar button]

my problem is buttons are responding even though i touch fixed space bar.

i.e. buttons are responding for some area outside their border.

I tried using all kind of buttons plain, bordered & done; but all behave same......

Please help me if u know something

thanks in advance.

Default Perhaps try to insert an invisible UITabBarITem?

In my application I have the same thing happening, though this is not a major concern for me.

I use FlexibleSpace, BTW. Perhaps try to insert a BarButton with an empty image, a placeholder, that has no action and set it to disabled so it doesn't "click"?

I didn't try this, its just an idea.

Good luck!

This is normal. For any app, the touch area for tool bar buttons and nav bar buttons is much larger than the actual button. I'm sure Apple chose to do this on purpose to make it easier to tap things.

That's a very good question, I've had the same issue when I just want the look of the bar with a single button. See the click zones here: 2009-04-23_2024

I suppose I'll do the invisible button trick also... wish there were a better way. But, I suppose it's better than putting a graphic there just to get the look of the bar and button.
