checking internetconnection dynamically

Dear All,
I want to give alert while downloading when internetconnection disconnected.
How to do this,Please help.
Otherwise,if net connection was lost,my app remains in hang mode and after that the app was closing.

Probably you can do a timeout Timer.

at the download start, start the timer as well.

but u need to know roughly how long it will take to complete the download,
and if it is too long (like 3-4 times of the expected time to complete), then
terminate the download and show the alert.
