Developing social networking site?

Hi all,
I want to know how to develop a social networking site like facebook on iphone(not facebook but its kind).Any pointers to begin with it will be of great help.

Facebook app is built off of Hybrid. its using objective-c and web languages.
Facebook uses HTML,CSS,PHP,AJAX,PERL.

so to build a great social app you must incorporate both native and web into the native app.
