Limited tint color?

Are tint colors limited?

I'm setting the tintColor of UISegmentedControl and the backgroundColor of a view to the same
shade of color, however, it seems as if I always get the closest match to a built-in system color?

The two colors don't match. The tint color is always off.

A tint color is a color applied lightly to the basic gray of UISegmentedControl.
So yes, it will never appear the same as backgroundColor of a view.
