Open Maps with KML file from iPhone app

Hi,

Complete newbie, but I did manage to get an iPhone app together that opens safari when i pass it a url, it only took a line of code. What i really want to do is open the google maps application and have it display a kml file that resides on a server. Does anyone know if it is possible? How tricky this would be? And where would I start coding this up?

AFAIK, thats not possible.

However, it is possible using the URL technique to drop a pin if you want

So how would one drop a pin within the maps app, from another app?
