Multitrack audio questions
Hello,
I am in the process of working on a iPhone/iPad multitrack recording program. I want to build a simple free 4-track recorder would allow users to record audio, and then record a second track on top of the first track. I would like the user to play up to 4 tracks at the same time and have the ability to mute or solo any of the tracks while the song is playing. I have programed a few apps before, but this will be my first involving music and I was wondering if anyone could point me to a documentation or an example project that could help me get started. In particular i am curious if I am going to need to invent a new audio format, or if something open source exists that I can build upon. I know apps like this exist, but I think I can bring a unique interface to the project and I plan to give it away for free.
