Cool Newbie Question : Resetting Variable

Hi All,

I have a class (class.m) where I'm setting a variable in an init method. However, in the ViewController.m file, I may want to reset the previously set variable. [class variable] = 10 gives me an 'Expression is not assignable' error. I should be able to reassign the variable shouldn't I? Anyone has an idea what the syntax is to do this?

Thanks

Default

I'm going to guess you have a property. To set an ivar with a property you either do
Code:
aClassInstance.aProperty = aValue;
or
Code:
[aClassInstance setAproperty:aValue];
Both do exactly the same thing, it's just a matter of preference.

Domele,

Thanks for the reply. As usual, I was dancing all around this one. I won't be making this mistake again.

Thanks
