Suppressing iPhone's native video player when playing HTML5 video in browser

Hi all,

I am sorry this might be bit off topic but I have nowhere else to ask.

I am developing HTML5 video player but on iPhone when you click play on the on-site (in browser) video player it will open the iPhone's native player instead and play the video there (unlike on the iPad where it will play the video in the on-site HTML5 video player).

Is there a way of suppressing the native player and play the video in the browser in the on-site HTML5 video player?
