Do you really use UIAutomation?

Hi guys,

I know that Apple recommends to use its Instruments's tool UIAutomation for testing GUI in iOS projects. But is it really useful? Is it really good for regression tests? What's about automatic testing nightly builds? I'm interested which tool is the best for testing GUI and would be great to get some statistics what's tool is the most popular in software companies.

I heard about Fone Monkey and other open source projects, but don't know which one is the best of all.

I find UI automation to be more hassle that it's worth. Especially with the current state of UIAutomation, where you have to write scripts for everything. Fortunately in iOS5, the scripts will be auto-generated, similar to fonemonkey. If you find is useful, then use it. From my personal experience, I don't see any net advantage in using it.
