Running in the background

Hey all,

I'm working on a project that uses mainly accelerometer, and I want to track these values even after the user presses the Home button - sending the application to the background. Is it possible to do, or IOS won't let the application run in the bg, cause it's not working with locations, audio, or VOIP things. What do you think? Is there a way to do this?

So I want the app to be able to run in foreground and in background the same way.
