I've used this before Custom Progress for iPhone for custom progress views. I'm sure there are many other custom progress libraries you can find.

It's great but I'd like it to be animated from left to right at entry.

a dirty way is to use a NSTimer to set programmatically the value incrementing it until reach the right value...

That's true but I prefer rather a clean solution
