Question New to iOS

Hy folks!

I have "only" a design Background and therefor quite a hard time understanding the main principles and dinamics of getting an App together.
I'm reading everything that I possible can about all the iOS SDK Elements, Tools, rules and guidlines. But the whole thing is so abstract to me, since I'm used to work in Layers.

My biggest question at this moment is how do I get all of my Ideas & Design elements toghtether (I have all the custom Desing elements of the UI ready to use and all the functions and behavior thought out). But I can't seem to find out how to tranlate my pictures and objects in to IB. I'm don't want to use any of Apples basic Navigation systems like the Tab Bar nor the Navigation Bar.

How do I know what design element to pack into what and where (like a UIImageview etc.). All of the tutorials I've seen in YouTube ore eaven on Apples official Devcenter are so simple and basic. My goal is to create something like the Convertbot, Camera+ or the Sleipnir App.

Have anybody been through the same?
Thanks a lot for taking your time guys!!
I'm grateful for any tips. :0)

Chances are that if you are straying that far from Apple's standard UI elements, you're not going to use much of IB anyway. Image views and buttons maybe.

Easiest thing to do most likely is to layout your UI using whatever graphical tools you are most familiar with, then contract someone to do the coding.

Sure I see what you mean. But like the most of us I don't have the financial recourses to get the coding job done externally. I'm dreaming of building each function step by step. But I would guess that that's not quite possible because the structure of an C based Application is not layer nor timeline based like Photoshop or FinalCut.

:0( There must be a way!!
Thanks Brian!
