Unhappy Provisioning Profile on iPad

I let the provisioning profile for my AdHoc app expire on my iPad. I should have renewed it on the Apple Developer Portal before it expired. I did not

So, I deleted the old (expired) one and created a new one. I built my app with this new profile.

The app runs fine on the iPhone, but on the iPad I get the error, "The application cannot be opened because the provisioning profile has expired"

I have deleted the app from the iPad and iTunes and ensured that the newly built app is the one installed. I even changed the name of the app to assure myself that I am running the new app on the iPad.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you check on General->Seetings->Profile that you have the new profile installed with the un-expired date?

Try looking in the Settings->General->Profiles on the iPad. There it will list all the profiles installed and the status. Probably you can delete the expired profile, and make sure that the new one is uploaded to the iPad

I am not using Ad Hoc, but during development, XCode is usually offering to install the profile during test if it is not there. In your case just follow the Docs for sending out Ad Hoc profiles to the device. I thought that an Ad Hoc provision should be just like App Store distribution - the profile does not expire ? Any way hope this helps

That was it. Once I deleted the expired profiles, my app started running.

Thanks,
