Smile How do you make a button push up a tab bar from the bottom with a slide Transition?

hey im making my first comercial type app for the iphone and i want you to push a button with the text "get started!" and when you push it i want the tab bar at the bottom with a few buttons on it to slide up in a smooth slide transition. i'm new to objective C and the sdk so if you could please give me some detailed instructions that would be great. just think of when you were first trying to learn
