How to set keyboard transparency
Anyone know how to set the transparency of the keyboard, is there a setAlpha method somewhere?
What I'm going for is something like that OS built in passcode screen, where the passcode number keyboard is see-through and the wallpaper can be seen through it. For views you can set the alpha property to control the transparency. What I'm looking for is something similar for the keyboard.

Setting the keyboardAppearance property of your text field or text view to UIKeyboardAppearanceAlert will change the keyboard to the transparent keyboard.

I have done this, but just before my keyboard slides out of view it visibly changes back to UIKeyboardAppearanceDefault (the property value does not change).
It looks quite ugly!

Does "keyboardAppearance" trait not work for UISearchBar? I keep getting an error when I use it.

Hi,
I have the same problem like code.otter...
before the transparent alert keyboard slides out of view it visibly changes back to UIKeyboardAppearanceDefault.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
There are some Applications outside where it works...

it seems that the slide-away keyboard is a fix image (always with a return button)
i guess the only way to fix the look is to write a own keyboard view...
