TabBar Item Icons different highlighted color

Hey,

I'm struggling for a few days now, with how to change the Color of the highlighted tabBar icons. I realy need to change te BlueGradient thing to another color. i've searched the web for days for a good tutorial or help but no one seems to have the answer altho i've seen a few apps with custom colored icons. How can i pull this off ( i'm a newbie to SDK, Xcode and everything).

Changing Tint / Background color of UITabBar

Either way when I've tried tinting myself and the results are always poor. Therefore I've always gone back to the standard blue or black.
