Document Scroll/Fade at top/bottom effect

Hi,

Wondering if anyone knows how to have a white text document auto slightly fade on tops and bottoms of the doc as the user scrolls?

Sort of looks like a CSS trick of sorts. It's subtle, like the 4-5 pixels just below the title bar.. Seen it in a few places and thought it was a nice touch.
Saw it in an LA Times free app, but also saw it in other places.

Not sure if Im visualizing what you want correctly but what if you made an image about 5 pixels tall and the width of the iphone and make it a white block but near the bottom of the block it fades to clear, then just add that image as an imageview to the top of you textbox and it will seem as though the text is fading.
