FMDB, sqlite, and Dates

I have a few date columns in my sqlite DB, and the dates are currently stored in the yyyy-mm-dd format. When I retrieve these records from the DB and map them to an object using dateForColumn, they all end up as 1969-12-31.

Can someone point me towards the right direction here?

dateForColumn uses unix timestamp for its date column, not a date.
