Default Throttling device internet speed?

Hey, is there a way to throttle a device's internet speed? Through code would be the best.
I would like to test how my app would perform under a slow network.

I'm not actually sure...

Can you do this yourself? Move to a range where your wifi/network is very low?

You might also try something like borders (they have free wifi) since where I live there always seems to be about 50 people online and it gets very slow at times.

Settings (assuming you are testing on a device); turn off wifi, turn off 3g. That's a start and then find a stairwell or a cellar (basement).

You can also try holding your device a la "grip of death" to reduce connection quality.

Hmm, maybe that would work, but I don't want to cut off the internet, just slow in down.

Time to pay a visit to borders.

I'm currently using an ipod touch to test.
