Question on Subviews and Navigation Bars

I am writing a tab controller based application with a navigation controller for each tab.

I am placing some UILabels as subviews onto the navigation bar. I want to periodically update the text attribute on those UILabel objects.

My question is once the UILabel is added as a subview onto the navigation bar how can I reference that label.text attribute?

If a user changes their location I want to update the label text on the uilabel I added as a subview on the nav bar.

No, I built everything programatically and didn't use IB.

Can you post the code that you used for declaring and placing the Label.

PS try replace the programatically created label with an IB one and see if it makes any difference
