Default Is orientation is necessary for iPad apps?

Hello there,

I would like to know a better answer for my question from you all, probably a bigger clarification. Is an iPad app needs to run on both Portrait and Landscape orientation. I have seen a Car game app in the Apple Store that has run only on Portrait mode. And at the same time I heard to know some iPad apps were rejected by Apple due to the inability of running on both Portrait and Landscape orientation. So people who are known to these difficulties can help me out of this. I need more inputs from you, in-order to start my new project on iPad.

Regards.

Hi you can have just portrait apps, but it seems they must be able to spin 180 degrees if the user turns the ipad upside down. I got my first app rejected because i made it fixed, I then altered it so it would rotate 180 degrees and it was accepted.
