Default To use interface builder or not to use interface builder

Hello everyone, just doing some studying with the iPhone SDK, still pretty new to it all, I understand Objective-C just fine, but I'm wondering if most people use Interface Builder when building their apps for iPhone/iPad, or are there a lot of you more experienced developers that prefer not to use it, and just code everything manually?

The reason I ask is the book I'm studying with doesn't use IB very much at all, whereas the previous book I was studying from used it extensively. I actually prefer not using it, IB confuses me a lot.

Is it crazy to do the programming by hand? Is there really a huge benefit from using IB for everything, or is it just one of those "personal preference" things?

Thanks for your input, I don't want to learn to do things one way and later find out that most experienced developers do things differently, and I should too.

Kind regards,

David

for static interface i use IB, for orientation i prefer to use code (no autosize), , and for dynamic interface (ex: load X buttons, 4 for line) must be used code. So depend on what are you doing. You can use IB? so use it!, you can't? write code!

Ah, thanks for the link to that post. I know there's not really a "right way" to do things, I'm just so new to iPhone/Mac development I wondered what all you experienced developers do.

Thanks for the link, and the comments to those who responded!
