How to Build an App that is an extension of existing website?

Hi,

Please pardon me if my question is too basic, I am a newbie.

Say my company maintains an existing website and we want to build an iphone app that displays certain information. What are the ways to do it? Can I simply read the html outputs? Or use existing PHP scripts or write new ones to return XML files?

You could consider a hybrid app approach or you can parse the XML data from
the XML you get and display the data in a UITableView or using any other relevant iPhone UI

Thanks for the reply. So new PHP scripts have to be written to supply the XML for the iPhone UI right?

Are there any other methods?
