Default Facebook - FBCDN image not allowed in stream suddenly!?

Hey all,

It seems that Facebook no longer allows images hosted on their domain to be used published with streams: FBCDN image is not allowed in stream is the error message. This actually breaks iToughs Facebook posting ability for existing users; it publishes jokes with the iTough App Icon stored on facebook; and that's what's blocking it; pretty ridiculous!

I can rectify that by hosting the app Icon on my server and linking to that, but I was also working on another app where users create images; then they can post it to FB by uploading the image to facebook and then publishing a stream linking to that newly uploaded image...this is no longer allowed? I'm sorry but that's BS...

Anyone have a workaround method for doing this? I know I could have the users upload all their created images to my own server and use that in the feed post...but that should be totally unnecessary. It shouldn't require an extra server for a user to draw a picture in a paint app and then upload to FB with a corresponding Feed that displays it with "Look what I just made with app X, download it here!"

I'm still scratching my head over this; is anyone else in the same boat?

I'm in the same boat. Apparently we can't use the images uploaded to FBCDN. It's ridiculous.

Is there any resolution to this issue yet?

Barring that; does anyone know of an image uploading service where you don't need credentials (like twitpic without a login required etc). The app I'm working on basically just lets you create art; and I would like a way for the user to be able to easily share it on their facebook without them having to do extra work or without my having to host every graphic the user makes on my own server.

Thanks.

I'm in the same boat, working on an app for a client that involves sharing images. At the bottom of the comments on this post on Ray Wenderlich's blog, another poster mentioned that Facebook removed the restriction from their documentation and that the method described in Ray's post now seems to be working. I still haven't had a chance to test this myself, but I'm a little concerned that I'm not able to find any other discussion about this being resolved, since I know this was an issue for a lot of developers. Even if it's possible, I'm a little hesitant to go ahead and implement this without seeing something from Facebook explicitly saying that it's OK (to be fair, they may have, but I'm completely new to FB integration and I'm having a hell of time finding anything on their site).

I don't want to submit something for a client only to have Facebook destroy things on their end a few weeks later, so if anyone else has any additional knowledge of the current state of things that they could share, I'd appreciate it as well.
