Exclamation Error from Debugger: The program being debugged is not being run.

I get this message error message saying "Error from debugger: The program being debugged is not being run."

My loads the splash screen and just exits. I have reinstalled provisioning profiles and restarted my xcode, my app, and everything else. I am running X-Code 3.2.3. What is going on?

have you checked if you there are two versions of the same app on your device/simulator, if so just erase the two and restart building (make a little clean all command before)

I dealt with this for 4 hours yesterday. Recreating profiles etc. The problem is simple but completely nuts. Check all profiles installed on your device. If there is one that is expired, you will get this error. Even if it's for a completely different app.

Yup, the problem was that since i had two provisioning files there were two versions of my app on the device. I just deleted my old provisioning file and made sure my recent one was up to date and deleted the app that was linked to the old provisioning file (I deleted both of them just to be sure).

Try deleting both apps and just make sure your provisioning files are up to date, then try running it again to see what happens.

Hope this helps!!!

In my case:

I had a slash (#) in the project directory name.

Just renamed the project directory solved it
