Exclamation How to provision iPhone Apps without iTunes

We have signed up for "Enterprise developer" account of Apple that enables us to distribute and load internal business applications onto iPhones of our employees. These applications are meant for internal use not for distribution by App store.

We currently follow this process to install apps onto our employees phones:

1. Send the Application and provisioing certificate to our employees by email.
2. Employee downloads it on his/her laptops
3. Employee transfers it to iTunes on their laptops
4. Employee downlaods it to iPhone using iTunes

Is their anyway so that we can distribute the apps and these can be easily installed on the iPhone device without going through iTunes.

Have a look here: Apple - Support - iPhone - Enterprise

Try downloading the iPhone Configuration Utility.

Hello HarryTheShark,

Thanks for your reply. We were wondering if it is possible to install the App on the phone if we deliver the App and the associated provisioning file through email or through some Safari based download.

If we have to use Configuration utility, each employee will have to bring their phones to IT which is not a feasible way.

Thanks,
Rakesh Goel

If the employee has either have iTunes or the iPhone configuration Utility, then you can email them the files and they can do it themselves, but you have to at some point use one of those apps.
