Using buttons to switch to different views/pages like Facebook/Stanford Apps

Hi,

I am doing an iPhone application for my university for my senior project, and I wanted to do the menu structure for the main view much like Facebook's app, and Stanford/TCU does their main page. They have nine buttons that switch to other views or xibs I believe. I also need a back button on each to get back to the menu. I cannot find anything in any book I have on how to do that and I was hoping somebody could help me out. Thanks!
