oneTapDial What?!

How do apps like OneTapDial make icons on the home screen like they do? I'm awfully perplexed by how the speed dial apps do that? Any ideas?

You can add web apps to your home screen too; I suspect they're uploading your picture to their server and creating a web app for you to bookmark. Awkward but ingenious.

I don't know of anything in the SDK that lets you change your icon or add new icons, so I doubt it's automatic. It probably launches safari to the custom web app and tells you to select "add bookmark to home screen" in Safari to create the icon.

Have you bought the app to try it out?

Of course! i had this app awhile back and i guess i remember that it did open a webpage and asked u to save to homescreen. that makes more sense now.=p
