Free graphics (57x57 and 512x512 icons)

Hi,

Unfortunately I'm 14 and am kinda broke so I can't pay anyone to design my app icon. So is there anyone or anyone that knows anyone that would possibly be able to do a 512x512 and 57x57 for free? Please PM me if this would be possible.

Well, that all depends on how good an icon you want. You could start with a digital camera and take a picture (that's what I did). Then edit that picture with one of any number of free image editing programs. On Windows there is Paint, and on the MAC there is Paintbrush. There may be others. Google free image processing software.

Please could you give me some tips on how to get an image onto the base templates. Could I use Paintbrush or do you know of anything that is free and better?

Hmm I use Photoshop (not free!) I'll see what I can find thats free!

Pixelmator is a pretty cheap alternative to Photoshop, but its not free though.
