Post Audio Stream in Utility Application

How possible is it to set up a utility based application that can stream audio?

I'm looking to stream my college radio show, which is based off of a quicktime streaming server:

http://198.175.251.242/chapmanstream.sdp

that's the url, and i think its down for the summer, but i still want to know if its possible to use that .sdp stream in an iPhone app.

Will .sdp work, or would i somehow have to convert it into an MP3 stream? any comments will be appreciated B-)

hey,
i built a utility that play mp3 and AAC stream. What exactly is sdp format. Ill have look at it. I am stuck building a ASF stream player like Wunder radio and internet radio box. Research says, ull have to convert . Use libmms to read the mms:// stream and ffmpeg for reading the asf. See if SDP streams are convertible to PCM throu ffmpeg. Lemme know if you crack it.

actually .sdp is just the session description protocol file for the actual stream

so it tells quicktime that the stream is coming across RTSP, which is a protocol that isnt supported on the iphone

so i just had to find a way to convert my stream to an http mp3 stream, which i did by basically recreating a streaming server, but using the icecast software
