Translucent black UIImagePickerController

How can I change UIImagePickerController from default grey (like in Camera)



to translucent black (like in Contacts)



?
Also is there an easy way to change that top label text?

You will need to create a custom view and set it as the UIImagePickerController's overlay. See the new UIImagePickerController class reference for SDK 3.1.
