Default Upgrading SKD and Phone to 3.0 - any gotchas?

Hey All,

I'm finally getting around to upgrading my SDK and phone to 3.0 and I've heard some complaints of stuff going horribly awry. Can anyone give me a quick outline of what to do and in what order to maker sure everything goes painlessly? A cursory search didn't yield anything but if this is already addressed on another thread just point me to that; thanks!

Hi,

When I upgraded to 3.0, I simply installed 3.0 over the top of the existing installation. Everything worked fine, and I have the choice to compile apps against 3.0 and as far back as 2.0, on both the simulator and the device, however, I recently has problems with the provisioning certificate for my new iPhone, and now for some reason I can only compile against 3.0... This could have been my fault though. I only started using a Mac about a month ago, and I do remember deleting something from the Organizer menu within xCode.

You should be okay though.

Good luck.

Thanks; I think I got everything working okay. It was strange though; when upgrading my phone to 3.0 it went through the whole process but then displayed an error message saying the phone couldn't be upgraded....but then it was lol.

In my new SDK I notice I can only build back as far as 2.2 (base SDK)...you can build back all the way to 2.0?

I think it was. But now I only have 3.0 available. I can change it in the project properties as long as the template has no 3.0 specific code. Navigation template has problems but tabbar template seems fine.
