Default "Was this compiled in 3.0 or greater?" huh?

This is now one of the questions in the iStore submission process and I'm a bit confused. I thought we were supposed to test out 3.0 on our simulator but submit for 2.2.1 since 3.0 is still in beta and they do not accept beta binaries.

The question is ambiguous because "this" seems to refer to the submitted binary, which shouldn't be in 3.0. So it would be rejected.

On the other hand, it may just be asking if you had compiled it in 3.0 before compiling it in 2.2.1. But that's sort of weird. Why not just ask "Was this tested in 3.0 or greater?"

Or did I miss a big 3.0 migration and should submit in 3.0?

its saying.... if you know that your app will work on 3.0 because you have tested it check yes. if you dont know if it will or you testeed it and know that it will not work in 3.0 check no!
your making it too hard on your self lol it asked if the app was compiled on the binary your uploading... you can compile plenty of times before uploading a binary

GOOD LUCK

They are asking so they know what the minimum required device is when the App is listed in the App store.

If you click Yes for 3.0, then the app is going to require users to have 3.0 to download the app in the App Store.

If you click No, then it asks which devices you support (iPhone, iPod Touch, etc...) just as it did before.

I accidentally clicked 'Yes' for the '3.0' when submitting an update, and now both the original and update say they require 3.0 (which it does not). It seems once you click 'Yes' and save, you can't change it back to 'No'. I tried rejecting the binary and still no good.

Any one else run into this?

Same problem here. Very annoying or there is something I just don't get right. Already asked this on a different thread and there seems to be no real explanation? Anyone?

I read this as saying "was it compiled with SDK v3"? Regardless of the version targeted.

are there two questions regarding this? Because I remember one of the questions asking if it had been tested on OS 3.0 which seems like it shouldn't mean that it requires the device to have 3.0, just that it will run on devices. I can't remember if there was another question about compiled with...I think there was but I answered no to that. Is there any way to check once the app is in review?

I could be wrong, and will found out in about 20+ days given the current review schedule, but I think you can check yes to the first question about if it was tested on 3.0 ~ and I believe this will put the text next to your name on iTunes. This is different than the question to was the binary compiled on OS 3.0 SDK. I only saw the question about being tested on 3.0 when I was uploading the app. My 1.1 update I said no and I don't have the text saying that I'm tested on 3.0. For my 1.2 update, I checked yes to the question. After checking yes to it, I later reviewed where it is compiled and that answer remains no and shows that my app requires OS2.0+.

Unless users are able to filter out apps that haven't been tested on 3.0, then there probably isn't much of a reason to fret over it. I'm still running 2.2.1 because I need to finalize some testing, can anyone with 3.0 tell us if there are any built in filters or warnings about downloading a game that isn't marked as tested on 3.0?
