I just bought a refurbished iPod touch 1G (
$159 from Apple) to use as my lowest common denominator test device (i.e. fewest hardware features, keep at an older software version). It came to me with OS v1.1.4. I obviously need it at v2.0 minimum to get the Apps on it. iTunes wants to upgrade to v2.2.1. Is there a reason and/or way for me to upgrade it to v2.0 instead so that I can use it as a baseline test device? Why do many people build for v2.0 as the baseline, if the upgrades from 2.0 to v2.2 are free?
