Default How to use Camera API as background--help

I know how to make an application using UIImagePicker, but I don't want an application that takes pictures, I just want the camera to be on and used as a background.

Does anyone have any idea how to do that?

You can use the UIImagePicker and manipulate its subviews to hide everything except the layer that shows the camera view. However my guess is that this approach will break in OS 3.0 (since it assumes a particular configuration of subviews), so I wouldn't recommend it.

Hey, thank you for the reply . Unfortunately, I'm just a beginner, i'm not sure how I would manipulate the subviews. Could you explain a little bit further if you don't mind. I have seen an application in the app store that uses the camera as a background, I was hoping they would accept my application too.

Thanks again
