styled GUI

I'm trying to learn how to make my application looks better.
It's quite easy to find examples and tutorials about the basic elements of UIKit: tableViews, navigator...

But when trying to find how real applications improve the basic style GUI it's quite impossible to get samples or good documentation.
I know that under those nice gradient effects, image masking, blending there's Quartz but the examples I found are just about drawing squares, circles or basic paths.

Is there some link you can suggest me to understand more about that?

Hello,

For me good images go a long way. Find a theme, make sure that all of your elements including buttons match. It helps a lot too since on the app store people will only be seeing screen shots.

Give it a try, it's easier when trying that. For the label set the background to clearColor.
