Default Mac Wifi Pairing

I've successfully sent data to my Mac over wifi. However, I need a way to pair my iPhone with my Mac similar to the way Apple does with the iTunes Remote app.

Any suggestions?

What's running on the Mac that you're talking to? You have some sort of server process? You're going to need to build an authentication dialog between the two computers (Mac and iPhone), and store some authentication keys on each end.

I'm connected via Bonjour. I'm not sure how to have my iPhone remember my Mac and vice versa. I'm assuming I store the iPhones UDID, but what could I use to identify the Mac?

Thanks!

I think you can retrieve the serial number of MAC address. Not sure it's necessary, though. If the Mac doesn't recognize the iPhone, does it matter if the iPhone recognizes the Mac?
