Default Submission date mismatch

Hello,

I submitted my app Monday morning at 6 AM EST (so within the deadline) and in fact till yesterday my app was listed in Review and submitted July 7 in iTune Connect. This morning I noticed with surprise that the submission date magically changed to July 9! Is it a system error or I've been pushed at the back of the queue? Did it happen to someone else as well?

Thanks..

I posted my app on July 7 around 12PM EST (so 9AM Pacific). It is still "In Review" unfortunately. The only reason I think that your app submission date could have been pushed back is because you made an edit to the app submission's information... Just a guess anyway. Did your app also revert back to "In Review" when the date changed or is it still considered accepted?

Actually the weird thing is that the submission date changed w/out me doing anything! The only thing I did in the past days was logging into iTunes Connect to see the status, w/out touching the app submission manager. However, few minutes ago I saw that the date has been put back to the 7-th... don't know what's going on... probably a system error? I'm still under review too.

You are not the only one to notice that. My applications (Submitted on the 6th) did also, for a time yesterday, sho the 9th as it's submission date. I fired off a mail to apple's iphone dev mailbox, but have not heard anything back. The date is back to the 6th again, but we are still stuck "in review".

I'm a little disappointed at this point because I busted my butt working with instruments to clear any and all leaks, and get submitted on time. From what I've seen on the app store so far, I've got a couple good quality edges against the competition too. . . but I'm not allowed to sell yet, so the point is moot.

yes, sent to devprograms. It's pretty much a black hole right now though. I'm certain the mailbox is being completely flooded with problems of every kind.

FYI for anyone that's interested : I live in Japan, and it's the morning of the 11th. Just took a walk around and saw a lot of folks standing in lines at the local softbank stores. Upwards of 50 people at the large store. Looks like iPhone will sell here too. (like anyone thought it wouldn't. )

Black hole indeed.. It upsets me though. Apple is depending upon its developers to enrich the iPhone platform - they should be quick about informing us if there are any issues with our apps. I know that this is a new venture for them and there are expected to bumps along the way, but I hope that they realize how hard some of us have worked to submit our apps in time. Changing the date on us like this is frustrating (more b/c we have no idea what it means) especially after the recent communication that we must submit our app by 12PM PST on the 7th in order to be available when the App Store goes live.

My personal feeling is that they changed the date to weed out folks who where not paying attention.

They didn't expect the sheer numbers of applications that where submitted, and I think what they wanted by publishing that deadline was to have people "give up" on being a day one app. Instead, they got inundated with last minute submissions, and simply can't handle it. So they change the date on a bunch of the submissions, and if no one complains, they get to put testing those off for another day. . . At least that's what I would think. This is ALL speculation on my part though, I have no official word from Apple on any of this, and it may have just been a database error somewhere along the line. Growing pains.

Do you guys really believe that Apple is not smart enough not to predict a massive number of last minute application submissions? I think they indeed knew very well and they put in place the right protocol to handle that, no doubt about it. I'm an optimist and I still hope to hear something from them by tonight.

About the submission date: mine keeps flipping between the 7-th (I submitted early Monday morning) and the 9-th. It happened several times today. We can just second guess here, but I just think it is an issue with iTunes Connect, that's it.

so much for optimism. Almost 6:30 am the day of launch and I'm still in review.

Date still says the 9th

Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but it's all related. Honest!

I get the feeling that Apple's organisational and planning skills are pretty lacking. I hope you guys get your apps accepted soon. Likewise I hope I actually finally get accepted to the dev program soon after putting so much effort into developing an app.

The problem I see is that they're running an awful risk of annoying developers and consumers. Whoever thought it was a good idea to launch the App Store yesterday and, in the interim, not make the 2.0 update available for real, needs their head examining. Maybe I was stupid, but I brought some apps yesterday thinking "well, if the App Store's live, then the 2.0 update will be available shortly". As of now it's still not available, yet people have been buying the 3G phone here in the UK for nearly 4 hours now (well, if they can get one, apparently stocks are very limited).

So as a consumer I'm a little annoyed that nearly 24 hours later I can't use what I purchased and as a developer, frustrated at the silence and lack of transparency I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they start accepting on the dev program soon - looking at the majority of what's there, it's disappointing how many of the launch day apps appear to be lacking in polish.
