Can I install valid $99 iphone dev certificate on jailbreak iphone

Hi all,
This is an urgent requirement .. Please help me..

I have a jail break iphone.
Now suppose i register at apple for $99 program and develope an iphone app.
Can i use this certificate and install my app on the jailbreaked iphone???

Also, one more thing..
Can i use my iphone for both simultaneously, Developement and as a normal phone.
I am asking this because, at some places i have found saying that once you register your iphone for developement you cannot use it as a normal phone.

Please give me an input on this asap...

Hi Does this means that we can used jail broken iphone for debugging our application also? As we are just able to deploy our application as adhoc distribution on jail-broken iphone but not able to use it for development.
We have paid developer account and registered device and generated got development and ad-hoc profiles.

I'm afraid the "jailbroken" iPhone can't be used as 'Development" device for you application.

The problems I am sometimes having are coming from bugs in XCode and a faulty USB cable. I sometimes get a message that the app could not be verified. But this can be solved by unplugging and plugging in again or if the error is persistent by rebooting the iPhone.

I don't think that I would not see these errors on a non-jailbroken iPhone.

What I mean to say is that in no way does proper jailbreaking affect developing official apps on such devices. Not to my knowledge.

Errors like; this app cannot be installed, security error 101, application cannot be opened, and this application cannot be run. It works most of the time but occasionally you have to go through the troubleshooting guide (reboot, unplug, re-plug, etc...) Overall it works just fine though. Google will solve all your problems with the individual errors that may occur. Good luck.

Well I deleted provisioning profile on jail broken iphone and reinstalled it and then I am ble to use it for development.

This happens to me at least once a week on my non-jailbroken phone. I usually just restart the iPhone and all is well

Hi Oliver, did you switch to OS 3.0 and jailbreak it and use it as development???

can you tell me how can i install my provisioning profile after i jailbreak it because installing provisioning profile requires OS restore which will also remove jailbreak??

I jailbreaked my phone for OS 2.2 with ripdev's installer app ( which does not require restore) after i installed the provisioning profile but ripdev still does not released its OS 3.0 version and i have to switch 3.0 as soon as possible

You can use jail break iphone to develop iphone app. And you can use your iphone as a normal phone after registering it for development. We have done that with no problem.
