Cool default phone settings control?

I am trying to find out what framework, class, command is used to control the default phone settings from within an application. ie how would I simply code for my application to check if 3G (settings toggle) is off, and if so, turn it on? I am new to this SDK and have not programmed in ages.....

Thanks for any help

The quick answer for you- what you want to do is impossible. Apple does not allow it. Maybe that will change at some point in the 3.0 SDK...

thanks, so, you have checked 3.0 or not? I know the prior versions did not allow it, but thought the 3.0 might as they added a lot of APIs

I have downloaded the 3.0 SDK and the new firmware. Of course I cannot bring myself to install it on my personal phone- any flakyness would be a big problem for me and my day job!

Everything I saw them opening up involved the 30 pin connector and bluetooth. Unless someone else spotted something I missed, I think you're still out of luck on modification of phone settings.
