I'm not a blackberry guy... Did use WinMo for a long time *shivers*... I'm just sick of getting dinked for this stuff that is more expensive than it should be...
Ever thought about how much a text message costs in bits? How much they charge... It's crazy some times.

I had a winmo phone before, but can't remember what I was paying for the data plan... that was on verizon though... And yeah, SMS is the great american telco scam... no reason it should cost as much as it does..
to install the new os do you just do a restore from the ipsw file? If i double click it it opens iTunes but nothing happens.
thanks in advance
PS and if that's how you do it what happens to your data does it re-populate when you do a sync?
I have the same problem. Am wondering if this has to do with the fact that I'm in Australia and not the US?
Just to clarify the issue is that when I click on the ipsw file itunes appears to be opening it but then nothing happens. Any thoughts on what to do? Were you able to get this working?
Would appreciate any help you can provide on this.
Hold down the Option key (on mac - shift on Windows) and select Restore in iTunes (with your iPhone connected obviously). Then select the ipsw file you downloaded and open it. This runs the restore/upgrade process. Good luck!

My iPhone is hanging on at the end of sync (doesn't finish). All of my MS Outlook Notes (PC) are in the iPhone Notes. Found out how to send multiple pics but it sends them as attachments that have to be opened. Voice memo works fine with emailing but sends an .m4a file. Does that mean it requries iTunes or QuickTime?
Hmm....yeah its not *that* surprising that such a network-dependent service like MMS doesn't work a day after Apple made it possible through their firmware
Anywho...can we get back to the more important issue of - is it possible to revert back to the old OS 2.2 through iTunes or even QwkPwn after installing 3.0?
I wanted to start off by saying I'm new here and new to the whole programming apps so be gentle please . I do have a question though since I didnt go through the whole 2.0 beta. I only have my one phone and seeing how were not sure yet if or how you can go back from 3.0 to 2.2 my question is this. If I put 3.0 beta on and come summer time they have the final build that they give out to the general pop, will i be able to install that one like normal and move on with my life? Or will my phone still think and always think its in "testing" mode?

It will be upgradable if they do things like 2.0beta. Upgrade will almost certainly work via DFU if nothing else. Downgrade is the tricky part because it seems the data structure has changed.
So for now, if they push out a build every week or month or how ever there cycles are, we will just get a new build and keep restoring our phones to the new one till the final version correct?
