Default Lock iPhone Application

Hi, I'm building an iPhone application for my final year project at college which will be shown on my iPhone for a week at the final year show. This requires me to leave my iPhone at college, obviously I can't stand and watch it all week to make sure nobody does anything they shouldn't be doing on it so my question is, is there a way you can lock down an application so that it can't be quit, or disable the home button so they can't quit the application and mess with the rest of my phone?

Thanks Dan

I don't think so without physically disabling the home and sleep buttons.
One of the points of the physical buttons is to allow control even if the app is unresponsive.

Definitely not. The documentation makes it clear that at any time your application can be asked to quit and you must respond within 5 seconds or your application will be force quite.

The only thing I can think of to do is to cover the button with a piece of hard plastic or cardboard. Even at that, if your application is a resource hog, it could quit back to the home page if you run out of memory.

Is running it on the simulator using the school's computer not an option?

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't leave my iPhone at school for a week. I would do anything I could to run it in the simulator. Or, create a video of the application and loop that for the event.

Hey! Thanks for all your ideas! I could run it in the simulator but then it loses it's touch of being an iPhone application I think. The entire project is based around the intuitive use of the touchscreen and using the latest and greatest technology. I had a talk with my teacher today and he said if we can't resolve the problem software wise they will create a secure rig which covers the button and holds the iphone in place. I'll try to get some photos posted when it's been made and in place.

Many thanks Dan
