Need developer for quick project, perhaps future working relationship as well.
I am looking for a developer to hire to work with me on a project, perhaps future projects if all goes well, right now I need someone to put my iphone book together.
instructions are in these images (that's place holder art in the shots)
I provide all the artwork, you put it together, now you would either use my placeholders then send me the finished app so I could change the place holders for the full art,but I'm presuming that a finished app is contained within a single file, so one cannot just swap in files, so perhaps the finished app would have to be sent with its source files, then I load in the finished art into the app by just copy and pasted over the place holder art files in their directories in the source files.
I'm not knowledgeable with the sdk, that's why I'm looking to hire someone, so Ill need a bit of baby stepping, so Ill need directions on what to do with the sdk to change or finalise something (in this case its copy and paste in my text into the text field area that you have put in for me), Ive used 3d game engines for donkeys years, I just don't have time to learn this engine and root around, also I don't code at all, so I'm looking for someone to speed things up for me. You put it together, when I change something, like in this case it's me that will be copy and pasting the books text into the text field you put in, Ill need you to give me a guidance on what I'm doing. Like I said, I don't have time to learn the engine and do it all myself.
If it goes well we can make more applications, I was going to move to the unity engine as I'm comfortable using 3d game engines to make what I want, but if we work well together I can pay a developer to implement the ideas, rather than me doing them in a 3d engine all myself, you can work them in on the sdk instead, I supply the art assets and the design doc, and you put them together, so If this works for this first one, then I hope we can work together on more projects if we can work successfully on this.
I made the app above already in a program that output the app into html and java, but one cant put a web app in the store, I was going to wrap it in phonegap but that leaves me scratching my head, like I said, I don't code, I could re make it in a 3d engine, but Id have to learn a new game engine, its quicker to hire someone to make it with the sdk, plus if it goes well we can work on other apps I have, the art assets for other apps that need putting together, so there is a future for much more work if this works.
The book shouldn't take long to make, its just links, and once you have the links on one category, you just copy and paste it for the number of pages, then you go and re name the copied pages, stick the page number graphic on each of the pages, then just go over the next and previous for each page, that's it really, its very quick, when I made it as a web app I put it together very quickly, you could probably do it under an hour. Though I guess we have some communication time telling me what to open and click on the SDK to pate in my text.
If you are interested just shoot me a line. You can either talk here or send me an email.
Ill give you a link to one of my old web sites, that has a web form on the site. Contact form
The app you would be working on first is for one of my iphone labels here http://www.iamaviking.me
Ignore the price tag on the site, its just a place holder.

Reason: adding an url

May I suggest an easier option for you:
Get a developer to whip up a shell app that is basically just a fullscreen UIWebView that points at your website (possibly with a little bit of logic to handle no network connections gracefully etc).
Then you can continue to do all the work/ui/graphics/updates yourself without having to continually have the developer involved.

d.
Whats a UIWebView, how would this work, I do actually have a working version of this as a web app, not sure if you mean I upload this on a site, then have the UIWebView point to it or something, then I dont know, do something that makes it make a native app from this some how, like I said, I dont know the sdk, so I dont know what you mean at all. I'm not sure if you are saying that I make apps as web pages, then this UIWebView can point to an url, and make native apps from that. Is that it?

A UIWebView lets you view a webpage. If you made an iPhone app that simply consisted of a fullscreen UIViewWeb, then your entire app would be your web page.
This would still be a "native" app - it's a hard-coded web-browser without any ability to navigate outside of what you put on your webpage.
It's just a suggestion however, and obviously would not work without an internet connection - i was just trying to suggest something that would only be a small amount of work for an iPhone developer, and would offer you yourself maximum control over content since you would be able to manage the website the app pointed to yourself.
Take a look here for an example of what I taking about:
Regardless I really would suggest you learn a little about iPhone development if you want to go down this road - or you will be at the mercy of your developer.
How would the user use this (the person who bought this), when they want to use the app do they connect to the web site, or is it all self contained, is it a self contained app, or would one really be selling in the app store the ability to conect to a part of a web site, also if it worked that way, there would be no way to stop anyone accessing the web site for free.
What would be very usefull for me would be to be able to make my app as a web app, then have a way to convert it to a native app so I can put it in the app store, if what your saying can turn a web app into a native app, then thats really good for me as I have a great program that makes web apps with ease, but one cannot sell a web app, plus I dont want users to have to connect to the web to use my app, I want them to have it on the iphone.
The UIViewWeb sounds like it just points to a web page and the person using it would need to connect to the web to use my app, is that correct? So it is not actually on the iphone, the user, the one who buys the app, 'has to' connect to the net to use the app, am I right? If so, then this isnt what I am looking for as I need it on the phone. Not a web app, people will not buy a web app.

As I said above - a UIWebView does indeed point to a web page - it's an embedded browser.
There are many ways to prevent users from seeing your page in their desktop browser (the first of which would be to not advertise the URL) - passwording it behind SSL is the first one that comes to mind.
You can also browse LOCAL html files (i.e. within the application resources) with a UIWebView - so again, you could be responsible for building the html side of things, and simply add the to your iPhone package and rebuild whenever necessary - but now you are starting to get into having to know how to do builds in XCode etc. which, although not difficult, is tricky for a beginner.
Make a page on our app, lets give it a name, lets call it, Pick Up Lines logo. Lets add an image to cover the whole page.
(warning, the image is smaller than the one you will use, its just for illustration, the one you will use will be the full size for the screen)
Lets make another page, lets give it a name, we shall call it I am a Viking logo. Lets put an image into the page that will cover the whole page with our graphic.
(warning, the image is smaller than the one you will use, its just for illustration, the one you will use will be the full size for the screen)
The first image is what we will see when we start our app, then we will see the second image. How can we make this happen, easy, we add a timer to the first image, set it to 1.5 seconds, after that time it will go to the second page. We will also make the first page, the whole of the page a button, if we press the page, it will also take us to the second page.
The second page also has a timer, 1.5 seconds, and also the whole of the page is a button, that's right, its just like the first page. Where does this page take us to. This page links to another page one called menu.
Now lets make a third page. Lets call it, menu. Lets put an image into the page, just like the first two pages.
(warning, the image is smaller than the one you will use, its just for illustration, the one you will use will be the full size for the screen)
This page is called menu, we use this to navigate to other pages in our book, on the left we have the chapter names, can you see the chapter names.
At the bottom you can see another button, it says developer. clicking that button will take you too the developer page. Lets make the developer page.
Make another page, and name it developer. Lets paste an image into the page.
(warning, the image is smaller than the one you will use, its just for illustration, the one you will use will be the full size for the screen)
Notice the writing on the image. we have two different options stated in the writing, these are options to take us to another place, the one on the left is to the developers web site, the other is to take you back to the menu. Add two buttons (we don't need any graphics or text on the buttons, because the graphics are in the background art, they are just hotspots for links, they enable us to press locations on the screen and to cause an action) make the left button take the user to this web site http://www.iamaviking.me/ and make the right button take the user back to the menu page.
we use these graphics to make pages in our book, it has a big white space in the centre, and a grid with numbers and writing.
Books have writing in them, we will need writing in our book too.
Lets put a text field in, we will want the text field to be an exact size so that the person hiring you for the job can put the writing in later.
Lets see how big the text field will be.
Just make our text field the same size as that red square, good, now the person hiring you will be able to put his text into the text field himself, he can do that himself as that is an easy job for him to do, it saves time if he puts it in himself. Text is ariel size is 11. Add one letter, so I can copy and paste in and it will be set at ariel size is 11, then Ill just delete the single letter you put in after I copy and paste my type in.
So far we have made a page in our book, we have added a background image that shows buttons, then we added a text field.
Now, we will want to know what chapter in the book we are on, lets add a graphic image to the page, the image will show what chapter we are on.
Lets use this image.
Lets put this into our page in the space provided for it.
We have added a graphic, this shows what chapter we are on, the graphic has its own unique colour, each chapter has its own unique colour, and it has writing on it, what does the writing mean, I don't understand what it says, that's because it is shorter than the full word, we cannot fit the full word on the small graphic, so its abbreviated. The one in the image is abbreviated for creepy. Its just the first 4 letters of the word creepy.
Lets give the page a name, as this is the creepy chapter and it is page 1, we will call the page, creepy1.
Now then, you will have noticed those numbers down the side of the page, these are page numbers. Lets put a button over them, we don't need any button graphic or type as we can see the graphic as its in the actual page background art. Lets put buttons over all squares in the background art.
Now lets link these to a page, remember this is a book, and books have pages,
We are on page 1 of the chapter called creepy. Lets link the button that is covering box 1, as we are on page 1, pressing page one will link to the page we are making now, so go make that button link to the page called creepy1. The button that is covering the number 2 box, link that to a page called creepy2. Do the same for all of the page links, we have 10 in the image, its easy to follow, box 3, links to creepy 3, box 4, links to page creepy4 and so on.
Lets add some more links. see the chapter name box, we link that to creepy one. The home button, that links to the menu, the next and previous, we can leave that for now.
The creepy chapter has more than one page, it has 10, so lets copy this page 9 times, and give each copied page a the name that corresponds to its page, so in this case its creepy1, creepy2, creepy3, and so on to page number 10. That's the pages re named.
Lets go back to the next and previous buttons, we need to link these, so if we are on creepy1, the next button will take us to page 2, if we was on creepy2, the next button would take us to the next page, which is creepy3, the same goes with the previous button, if we are on creepy3, touching previous will take us to creepy2, and so on, if we were at creepy1, touching previous will take us to the chapter before it in the list which would be cool one if you look at our list of chapters. Once we have added these links we have our first chapter.
we then move onto the next chapter and repeat the process.
