Yoté for iPhone

Yoté is a challenging African strategy board game somewhat similar to checkers. The goal of the game is to capture all of your opponent's pieces by jumping over them. This iPhone version of that game includes:

-Single player mode with adjustable AI
-Same screen multiplayer
-Wi-Fi multiplayer
-Rating system for multiplayer games
-Online leaderboard that shows the top 50 rated players available in game and at http://yote.endeavorsportal.com
-Option to tweet your victory over your friends from within the game

Gameplay:

Each player starts the game with twelve pieces. Pieces can be move by dragging them to their intended new space. White always goes first. If you are playing against the computer, you will be white. If you are playing over Wi-Fi, the challenger will be white. On each turn you may do one of three things:

1. Place one of your pieces on an empty space on the board
2. Move one of your pieces on the board up, down, left, or right
3. Capture an opposing piece by jumping over it with one of your pieces going up, down, left, or right

If you capture an opposing piece and your opponent has one or more other pieces on the board, you must select another piece to remove.

When playing over Wi-Fi, you will be presented with a list of players on the same network that you can challenge. Each player will have their rating listed next to their name. Your ranking is determined by playing against other players. It will start at 1000, and it will not drop below that point. If you win, your rating will go up. If you lose, it will go down. The ranking of your opponent relative to yours determines how much your rating will change.

In order for your rating to be saved, it is important that you have a valid Twitter username and password put in on the options screen. There is an indicator there to let you know if the credentials you have put in are valid. All your ratings are tied to your username. If you want to play on a different device, putting your username and password in will load your rating from the server. Only saved ratings will be used on the leaderboard.
