Just to add my two cents:
You will never get a developer for 50/50
I wouldn't be so sure on that it really depends on a number of factors.
1) The idea, if its really new and innovative and has potential then that 50% could be significant.
2) the amount of resources the person is willing to put up, sure they may know nothing about development, but have a nice little backend server, or maybe specific hardware etc. Resources cost money.
3) challenge, I have been known to take opportunities just for my own learning benefits or that I think might help my marketbility.
Developers are not designers
Simply not true, if your a freelancer you find yourself doing both on occasion, I usually work with my daughter who is an art student and decent UI designer.
