Hey, I'm looking for someone to develop an iPhone game.
This is an unpaid job and not a commercial contract, I just have an (awesome) idea for a game and am trying to find someone who's interested in coding it. There might be a chance to make a profit from the game later however, if we decide to charge money for it on the app store.
Some basic info on the game/job:
- all the graphics/assets will be supplied, ready to use
- 2D only required, no 3D
- it will be a side-scrolling-esque game with multiple levels.
PM or leave a reply if you're interested or want more info.
You're expecting someone to develop a game, and they only "might" make some money later? And not just if it turns out to be successful but if you decide to charge for it all, meaning it's possible the developer wont see a dime if you publish it for free??
Yes, some crazy people do actually work not for money, but just because they're actually enjoying what they do. Especially if you spend a lot of time working freelance on others' projects where you have no input into the design or final outcome.
So ideally this job would be suited to someone who's either looking for some experience, or if you want to work on something cool and fun.
You do know nobody is going to apply right? Be realistic. If they want experience, they'd build their own game and charge $.99 for it.
The other point you're missing is it takes a lot of time to make a game, maybe 200+ hours. You sort of denigrates a person's skills by asking them your work for you for free. Offer a person a fair wage for their work. My 2 cents.

I'm definitely interested in this awesome side-scroller w/ levels app that has a chance at making some money later if it goes paid... and work for free.
